Specialized modules to meet your specific needs

Stelar's development philosophy allows for the creation of integrated tools that transform the practice of asset durability experts with the goal of extending asset lifespan—thereby having a positive impact on the environment and the community.  

The openness and flexibility of the platform comes in the form of modules. These modules add specific analysis or simulation functionalities by asset type. They can also add operational features for data collection, intervention management or visualization. The modules can also take the form of a connector to a CMMS system, an ERP or any other relevant software.  

CAPEX Module

This module facilitates project management at the asset portfolio level.  It allows organizations to plan, approve and track the entire CAPEX and OPEX investment process. It provides the opportunity to prioritize integrity-related projects within the project portfolio based on targeted benefits and performance indicators. For example, it can also simulate which project should be postponed in the event of a CAPEX budget reduction in order to minimize the effect on the risk profile or any other indicator.

In addition to modules developed by certified third parties, the Stelar team is currently developing modules for a host of potential applications. You can participate in prioritizing the development schedule by letting us know what you would prefer as an upcoming feature. It is also possible to suggest a new module to be developed. Using data from the core platform, this module evaluates the health index of each asset in the portfolio.  This index provides a real-time view of an asset’s health status. The status is accompanied by a risk level related to the potential consequences of the asset's failure.  The assets’ health indices can serve to generate alerts anticipating potential failures, and their risk levels can indicate to the manager which of the assets make up most of the total risk exposure.  The module also provides an order of magnitude estimate of the time remaining before a potential failure for each asset

This module simulates the effects of the active degradation mechanism to predict the future health of an asset, risks and remaining useful life. It also enables the comparisons of several options such as regular preventive maintenance, asset overhaul or replacement. A risk-based life cycle methodology can then be used to select the best option considering the following parameters and goals: 
- lowest life cycle cost,
- shortest payback time,
- appropriate risk controls,
- desired level of resiliency.

The simulation tools are developed by experts, and the AI algorithms are also trained and optimized by experts.  They allow the asset manager to verify the effect of an intervention such as a major repair on the health index and risk profile of the asset; these tools also allow the projection of the remaining life and the best future actions.  All of Stelar's modules are linked, which means that new inspection data entered into the platform will automatically update the Health Index, Aging Assessment and CAPEX modules.

This module allows us to measure the environmental outcomes produced (e.g. GHG emissions due to the manufacturing of the asset or its operation) or the resources used (e.g. water, energy) per asset in order to link them to its health status.

Stelar can track the health of all assets but for the moment, in collaboration with Norda Stelo's experts, we have prioritized the following asset families: port assets (wharves and jetties), piping networks, rail networks (including bridges, culverts), pressure vessels, process and storage tanks, buildings and structures.

Based on market needs and our expertise, we have targeted heavy industries such as mining and metallurgy, ports, and railroad facilities.

The ESG module allows companies to view the impact of their projects on their ESG audit score. This tool provides the ability to enter all the information required for ESG audits. The module allows to visualize the strengths and weaknesses of the organization, and to plan targeted interventions. The company will be able to track the positive impacts on their ESG score, according to the projects implemented. A dashboard will compile the data and facilitate the monitoring of performance indicators.

A Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) is software that manages information about an organization's maintenance operations. This information is intended to help maintenance personnel perform their jobs more efficiently. This system facilitates the management of several activities: work orders, inspection schedules, maintenance costs, spare parts inventory and prices. CMMS data can be used to verify regulatory compliance. A CMMS also allows for record keeping to track completed and assigned tasks in a timely and cost-effective manner.  This operational data is coupled with Stelar's data, allowing for greater maintenance efficiency based on the actual health and behavior of an asset.

The RBI (Risk Based Inspection) module allows companies to adjust the inspection frequency based on the risk associated with specific assets, such as pressure equipment, tanks, piping, or gas lines. Stelar's RBI module is flexible and adaptive. It includes all the calculations to meet the recognized API 581 methodology. It also has the ability to adjust to other recognized or internal standards. The inspection data captured on an ongoing basis in Stelar's Foundation allows for automatic updating of the RBI module's risk rating.

This module allows companies to invest in the right places to maintain asset reliability, integrity, and sustainability. It does not replace the responsibility to comply with standards, but it is a valuable aid in dealing with a complex set of parameters. It also maximizes asset availability and performance, and facilitates regulatory compliance as well as the protection of people, the environment, and communities.
